When you are looking to buy a car, you want to know that you are getting one that will last. You also want to know that it will hold its value, as you may need to sell it or trade it in for a new one in the future. In addition, safety and reliability are major concerns. This is why you should consider visiting Ruge's Subaru, your local Subaru dealer, when you are ready to buy your next vehicle.

Subarus are considered some of the safest and most reliable vehicles available today. This is why the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has named more Subaru models a Top Safety Pick+ for their vehicle class than any other automaker. They also last a long time, with Experian reporting that over 96% of Subaru vehicles sold in the last ten years are still on the road today. So, when you are buying a Subaru, you are getting a vehicle that truly checks all of the boxes. At Ruge’s Subaru, we are proud to offer the full lineup of 2023 Subaru cars and SUVs. Located in scenic Rhinebeck, New York, our dealership is family owned and operated, with the third generation of our family now running the business.

What Sets Subaru Apart

Subaru has staked out its place in the automotive world by embracing technology. When you buy a Subaru, you get one of the most technologically advanced vehicles out there. It starts with the EyeSight Driver Assist Technology features that are standard on most Subaru vehicles. This encompasses a set of different safety features, all operated off of the EyeSight system mounted behind the front windshield. These are the features that keep you and your family safe and secure when riding in a Subaru.

Another thing that helps set Subaru apart is the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive that is standard on all 2023 Subaru models except the BRZ. By building its vehicles from the wheels up as all-wheel drive, Subaru is able to design an entire vehicle around an all-wheel drivetrain. This is different from most other cars and SUVs from other brands. These models are built as front-wheel or rear-wheel drive vehicles and then have an all-wheel drive system retrofitted to the vehicle. This is why nothing handles the road better with greater traction than the Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system.

Finally, every Subaru features the STARLINK multimedia system. This seamlessly integrates connectivity and entertainment features into one system on a user-friendly touchscreen display. You can stream your favorite apps using Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You can also make hands-free calls using Bluetooth wireless connectivity. Subaru also offers the STARLINK app on most models that allows you to remotely start your car, which comes in handy in the heat of summer or the cold of winter.

Superior Subaru SUVs to Love

The biggest news for 2023 is the introduction of the Subaru Solterra. This newest model in the Subaru lineup is an electric compact SUV. This is the first all-electric Subaru model operating on the StarDrive all-electric drivetrain, which is powered by a 72.8 kWh battery pack. This produces an impressive 215 horsepower and 249 lb-ft of torque, giving the Solterra a range of up to 228 miles. The Solterra also features the Subaru STARLINK multimedia system on a 12.3-inch touchscreen, the largest in the fleet.

The Solterra joins the other four Subaru SUVs that return for the 2023 model year. The Crosstrek may be the smallest, but his subcompact SUV shows that great things come in small packages. The sporty Crosstrek has a choice of three different powertrains to choose from. The standard model has a 2.0-liter Boxer-4 engine with either a six-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Either way, this engine will give you a solid 152 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque. There is also an available 2.5-liter Boxer-4 engine that is paired with a CVT, delivering a very impressive 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque. Finally, you can get the 2023 Crosstrek with a 2.0-liter Boxer-4 Hybrid powertrain that will give you incredible fuel economy. This is the ideal model for someone looking to use the Crosstrek for the daily commute to work.

The 2023 Subaru Forester may be listed as a compact SUV, but don’t let that label fool you. This roomy model seats five passengers comfortably while providing 28.9 cubic feet of cargo space in the trunk. The Forester runs on a standard 2.5-liter Boxer-4 engine with a CVT transmission, which makes it capable of 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque.

If you prefer a midsize SUV, then the new Subaru Outback is the one for you. With a little more passenger and trunk space than the Forester, the Outback also gives you a choice of engines. The base engine is the same 2.5-liter Boxer-4 featured on the Forester. There is also an available 2.4-liter Turbo Boxer-4 that boosts the output to 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque.

For folks who are looking for the ultimate family car, then the choice should be the 2023 Subaru Ascent. This three-row SUV has plenty of room for up to eight passengers, with enough room in the trunk for everyone’s luggage if you decide to take a family road trip. The Ascent features the same 2.4-liter Turbo Boxer-4 engine as the Outback. It also has the Subaru STARLINK multimedia system with a standard 11.6-inch touchscreen.

Superior Subaru Sedans and One Clever Coupe to Love

Most other automakers have abandoned the sedan and the coupe, limiting the options of drivers looking at different vehicles to suit their lifestyles. Fortunately, Subaru continues to produce cars alongside its SUVs, giving folks the opportunity to drive these sporty, efficient, and fun vehicles.

One of the longest-running models in the Subaru lineup is the Legacy, and this midsize sedan returns for another great year in 2023. The Legacy has a quiet, comfortable cabin that seats up to five passengers. Subaru gives you a choice of a 2.5-liter Boxer-4 and a 2.4-liter Turbo Boxer-4. Either one will give you exceptional performance. In addition, the Legacy features a seven-inch touchscreen on the Subaru STARLINK multimedia system with an available 11.6-inch screen.

The 2023 Impreza is actually two different models built on the same frame with the same standard powertrain. The Impreza Sedan is a sporty four-door compact with a traditional look. The Impreza Hatchback is a wagon-style that increases the trunk space, making it ideal for folks on the move. Each Impreza features a 2.0-liter Boxer-4 engine paired with either a five-speed manual transmission or a CVT transmission. Both will give you outstanding fuel economy that will match the excellent handling of the Impreza.

One of the most popular Subaru models is the WRX. This performance compact sedan has built a cult following, with fan clubs springing up all around the country. It is easy to understand why, as the 2.4-liter Turbo Boxer-4 engine on the WRX delivers an amazing 271 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. When you combine this with the standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system on the WRX, you get a performance model that handles unlike any other model in its vehicle class. Subaru offers you the choice of a six-speed manual transmission and a CVT on the WRX, although I bet most folks who want to push the envelope will opt to go with the manual to get greater control over performance.

The only rear-wheel drive model in the Subaru lineup is also the only coupe. The 2023 BRZ features a 2.4-liter Boxer-4 engine with 228 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque, giving you exceptional acceleration. You also get a choice of a six-speed manual transmission and a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The BRZ features a track-tested suspension and Torsen limited-slip differential, so you will get exceptional handling. The BRZ not only looks sporty, but it can outperform many of its rivals on the road. This is the Subaru for you if you have a need for speed.
